THE TRISHAS EMBARK ON SPRING FLING TOUR
Five-nighter takes band to Dallas, Austin, Lubbock, Conroe and Gruene.
AUSTIN, Texas — Americana’s favorite quartet of blended voices and personalities is back on track for the Trishas’ Spring Fling, a Texas-based March tour that includes five of the best venues in the state, as well as some historic firsts.
The Trishas’ Spring Fling Tour starts Wednesday, March 9 at the Dosey Doe Big Barn in Conroe. On March 10, the group performs at the Kessler Theater in Dallas and on Friday, March 11 goes to Gruene Hall in New Braunfels. Saturday, March 12, the gals sit down for an acoustic show at the Rock Room in Austin, then cap their tour on Sunday, March 13 at the Cactus Theater in Lubbock.
“This is our first time to headline at Gruene Hall and the Cactus Theater,” says Trisha Jamie Lin Wilson. “We are honored and really excited for the opportunity to be at such historic venues.”
The Trishas — Wilson, Liz Foster, Kelley Mickwee and Savannah Welch — first performed together in 2009 at a tribute to Savannah’s father, singer-songwriter Kevin Welch. The acclaim that followed led to collaborations with the likes of Raul Malo and Ray Wylie Hubbard, tour dates with the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and Todd Snider, and two releases, They Call Us the Trishas (2010) and High Wide & Handsome (2012).
After going on hiatus in October of 2013, the Trishas came back together in 2015 for a spring tour of Texas and a short sprint to New York City in October. They have all kept busy, as Wilson and Mickwee have been performing solo, each releasing solo albums. Welch has collaborated with father Kevin and brother Dustin in performances as the Welch Family Throwdown. Foster began a successful career at Windy Hill Spirits in Nashville, Tenn.
All performances in their Spring Fling Tour will be full-band shows featuring the Trishas’ hits and inimitable harmonies except for the Rock Room performance, which will be a sit-down acoustic presentation of their music.
